Impartner — Referrals

Image with brief information about this project

Impartner Referrals

Business Case: Empowering partners with a comprehensive referrals tool increases visibility into high-potential leads and streamlines collaboration, ultimately driving higher conversion rates and increased revenue for both partners and the business.

Referrals Defined: In the Partner Relationship Management (PRM) space, a referral program is a structured business system to incentivize and reward individuals or partners for referring new customers to your business.

Project Goal & Outcome : Referrals was a net-new feature for Impartner and was successfully released on the Impartner PRM platform.

Constraints: Limited access to customers.

My Role as UX Designer

I worked closely with a Product Manager and Development Lead to realize our vision for the feature.

Process: I led the team in Design Thinking exercises to unpack the problem space and drive alignment. This collaborative effort resulted in the creation of key artifacts, such as:

  • Journey Maps: To aid all members of the team in visualizing our user's journey and identifying our opportunities for success.
  • Needs Statements: To clarify and align on user needs.
  • Rapid MVP Prototypes: Rendering the design in a clickable form to further drive team alignment.

Things I learned during this project:

  • 1
    User access is critical

If you're not talking directly with actual users, you're going to end up guessing what they might want or need.

  • 2
    Engage the whole team

Though wrangling everyone into a meeting may take some skill, find a way to get everyone talking.

  • 3
A prototype helps sell the vision

Creating even a "quick and dirty" prototype is a great way to communicate the experience we envision.
